SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Milan Louis "Mike" Homola, who passed away on March 28, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Milan Homola was born on September 25, 1919 and raised in Cary; he married Rose M. McCarron in 1955; and

WHEREAS, Milan Homola, along with his friend and partner Leo Krug, owned and operated Hom-Kru Builders, which built custom homes in the Barrington Hills area for over 25 years; he was a Lieutenant in the Lake County Fox Valley Police Reserves, and, in his later years, he worked for Nunda Township in the paint recycling program; and

WHEREAS, Milan Homola was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and loved being outside working and going fishing; and

WHEREAS, Milan Homola was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Rose; his parents, Anton and Catherine; his siblings, Helen, George, and Lucille; and a granddaughter, Nicole; and

WHEREAS, Milan Homola was a devoted father to Michael (Marie) Johnston, Jean (Thomas) Behrens, and Philip (Carol) Homola; a loving grandfather to Jennifer (Glenn) Korhorn, Jeffrey Behrens, Milan (Tara) Homola, Rebecca (Aaron) Rudd, Donald (Kimberly) Rushen, and Rosanne Rushen; and a proud great-grandfather to Talissa, Trevor, Tyler, Ariana, Brooklyn, Isaiah, Zachary, and Kaitlyn; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Milan Louis "Mike" Homola, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Milan Homola as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
