SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Sylvia J. Frey of Mundelein, who passed away on April 12, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Sylvia Frey was born in Tifton, Georgia on August 21, 1941 to Eddie and Hazel LeFiles; she lived in Quitman, Georgia and eventually Columbia, South Carolina; she graduated from Columbia High School in 1959 and joined the United States Navy, serving during the Vietnam War for 6 years on active duty as a medical x-ray technician; she married Tom Frey on September 5, 1964 at the Naval Base Chapel in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and

WHEREAS, After leaving the Navy, Sylvia Frey was a stay-at-home mother and later worked as an x-ray technician, certified nursing assistant, and as a retail sales associate at several area department stores; and

WHEREAS, Sylvia Frey enjoyed country music, bowling, flower arranging, fixing things, and sewing; and

WHEREAS, Sylvia Frey was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Carol Bobe; and brother, George F. LeFiles; and

WHEREAS, Sylvia Frey is survived by her husband, Tom; sons, Joseph Frey, James Frey, and Patrick (Tiffani) Frey; and brothers, Eddie H. (Jo) LeFiles and Jlee (Lea) LeFiles; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Sylvia J. Frey, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Sylvia Frey as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
