SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Eugene Anthony "Chuck" Turowski of Gurnee, who passed away on April 14, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Eugene Turowski was born and raised in North Chicago and graduated from Northern Illinois University; and

WHEREAS, Eugene Turowski worked for Abbott Laboratories for over 33 years; he was an accomplished scientist in diagnostics and process development divisions; he was instrumental in the development of the first AIDS test, saving thousands of lives; he worked with dozens of infectious diseases and helped save Abbott millions of dollars with the processes he put into place; and

WHEREAS, Eugene Turowski was preceded in death by his father, Eugene, Sr.; and

WHEREAS, Eugene Turowski leaves behind his loving wife, Katheleen (nee Summerville); daughter, Caitlin; step-son, Russ (Kim) Sherlock; grandson, Daniel Sherlock; adoring mother, Dolores; and sisters, Eileen Taylor and Diana; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Eugene Anthony "Chuck" Turowski, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Eugene Turowski as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
