SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Joseph John Kraft, formerly of Libertyville, who passed away on March 17, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Kraft was raised in Edgebrook and studied at St. Vincent De Paul Seminary before graduating from Notre Dame High School in Niles; he earned his Master of Business Arts from the Lake Forest School of Management; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Kraft was an accomplished entrepreneur and founded and operated a packaging company, Kraft Seal and Label, in Lake Forest, which he sold in 2005; he relocated to Richmond, Virginia to become the general manager of Pan Atlantic Processed Films for DuPont Teijan Films; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Kraft was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church; he was a coach for all of his children and their friends; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Kraft was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph John and Eileen (nee Stanton) Kraft; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Kraft is survived by his wife of 42 years, Linda (nee Sykes) Kraft; his children, Joseph J. (Erin nee Quinlan), Mary Therese (Greg) Kraft-Williams, Dr. Patrick (Betsy nee Northam), Daniel, and Tracy; his grandchildren, Madeleine, Joseph Patrick, Trey, Riley, Parker, Taitum, and Annabell; his siblings, Mike, Tom, Steve, Jim, Marge (nee Whalen), and Kay (nee Schneider); and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Joseph John Kraft, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Joseph Kraft as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
