SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Estill Ray Arnold of Moline, who passed
4away on March 28, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Estill Arnold was born in Memphis, Missouri on
6October 14, 1918 to Emmett and Grace Estill Arnold; he served
7in the United States Army in the Pacific Theater during World
8War II and married Dorothy Miller in 1941 in Little York; after
9the dissolution of his first marriage, he married Norma Price
10in 1970, and they later divorced; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Estill Arnold owned and operated Arnold Tree
12Service and Landscaping, which covered most of Central Illinois
13and Eastern Iowa, for many years; after retirement, he did
14volunteer lawn work at Westside Assembly of God in Davenport,
15Iowa and at Calvary Church of the Quad Cities, where he was a
16member; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Estill Arnold loved reading the Bible, was a
18life-long St. Louis Cardinals fan, and enjoyed rides in the
19country, Whitey's Ice Cream, family cookouts, and croquet; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Estill Arnold was preceded in death by one son,
21Jim Arnold, and by 3 of brothers, Richard, Harold, and Paul;

2    WHEREAS, Estill Arnold is survived by his children, Mary
3Arnold, Eldon (Bev) Arnold, Charlotte (Tom) Pier, Pamela
4(Michael) Medas, Rhonda (Dennis) Gourley, Lori (Greg)
5Graham-Sullivan, and Christa (Johnna) Kay; his 18
6grandchildren; his 21 great-grandchildren; his 2
7great-great-grandchildren; his brother, William Arnold; and
8his special friend, Lula Minor; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Estill Ray Arnold, and extend our sincere condolences to his
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Estill Arnold as an expression of
16our deepest sympathy.
