SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Martha "Marty" Lawless of Crystal Lake, who passed away on February 28, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Martha Lawless was born in Chicago to Carl and Theresa Linnemann; she married Frank Lawless on May 28, 1949 in Chicago; and

WHEREAS, Martha Lawless was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church; she enjoyed craftwork, needdlework, TV westerns, especially with John Wayne, and spending summers at the lake; and

WHEREAS, Martha Lawless was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; her parents; and by her sister, Thelma Hoss; and

WHEREAS, Martha Lawless is survived by her children, Kathleen (Paul) Hayden and Steven (Gail) Lawless; her grandchildren, Michelle (Tom) Golbeck, Scott (Jackie) Hayden, Megan Lawless, and Ashley Lawless; and her great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Golbeck, Emily Golbeck, Benjamin Hayden, and Lucas Hayden; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Martha "Marty" Lawless, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Martha Lawless as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
