SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

740 ILCS 110/9.12 new

Amends the Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Confidentiality Act. Provides that upon petition, the court may order that a spouse, child, or parent of a recipient be notified, without the consent of the recipient, whenever there is a change in the recipient's treatment plan.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning civil law.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Confidentiality Act is amended by adding Section 9.12 as follows:

(740 ILCS 110/9.12 new)

Sec. 9.12. Notification of change in treatment to family members. Upon petition, the court may order that a spouse, child, or parent of a recipient be notified, without the consent of the recipient, whenever there is a change in the recipient's treatment plan or medication.
