HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate James M. Meyer of Naperville on his retirement from the Illinois Comprehensive Health Insurance Plan (CHIP) Board; and

WHEREAS, James Meyer was appointed to the Board on June 1, 1996 and served until October 11, 2013; he served as Chairman of both the Board's Grievance Committee and its Underwriting and Carrier Oversight Committee and as a member of the Board's Communications Committee, Evaluation Committee, and Finance Committee; and

WHEREAS, James Meyer was a strong advocate for CHIP participants and was a resilient negotiator on behalf of the Plan, saving millions of dollars in Plan Administrator contracts; and

WHEREAS, James Meyer is the Area Executive Vice President for Gallagher Benefit Services Inc.; and

WHEREAS, James Meyer is a former member of the Board of Directors for the Worksite Wellness Council of Illinois and is a current member of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans; and

WHEREAS, James Meyer has been married to Patty for 25 years and they have 2 children together, Jack and Jodi; he has a Bachelor of Science in Business and Economics from the University of Wisconsin and recently completed a master's degree in Christian Ministries; he and Patty spend much of their time in Haiti working with orphans through Impact for Jesus Ministries; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate James M. Meyer on his retirement from the Illinois Comprehensive Health Insurance Plan Board and wish him the best with all his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to James Meyer as an expression of our esteem and respect.
