HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Bobby Moews on the occasion of his retirement as the Central Catholic High School head football coach; and

WHEREAS, Bobby Moews's retirement becomes effective September 17, 2013, following a successful and distinguished career; and

WHEREAS, Coach Moews is a Central Catholic High School graduate and former quarterback; and

WHEREAS, Coach Moews had been on Central Catholic High School's football staff for 28 years, serving as head coach for 22; and

WHEREAS, Central Catholic High School compiled a record of 155 wins and 73 losses, with only 4 losing seasons during Coach Moews's tenure, making him the winningest coach in the schools storied history; and

WHEREAS, Coach Moews has led Central Catholic High School to 17 playoff appearances, including 10 conference championships, 3 State title games, and 2 State championships; and

WHEREAS, 34 of Coach Moews's former players went on to play collegiate football and 2 competed in the National Football League; and

WHEREAS, Due to the relationships that they had developed with Coach Moews over the years, fellow colleagues and staff reflected that his departure was as hard on them as it was on the players; and

WHEREAS, Central Catholic High School Principal Joy Allen thanked Coach Moews for his years of service and all he gave to the school, reflecting that he will always be a valued member of the Central Catholic community; and

WHEREAS, Coach Moews was succeeded by his brother Mike, who is now head coach; and

WHEREAS, Coach Moews declared that Central Catholic High School had a very talented group of players and dedicated coaches heading forward and was certain that the team would continue their tradition of success; and

WHEREAS, Coach Moews stated that he wished the team well in its future contests and enjoyed every day of coaching Central Catholic High School Football; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we honor Central Catholic High School Football Coach Bobby Moews for being an exceptional coach and role model for students, and we wish him continued success and happiness in his retirement; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Coach Bobby Moews as an expression of our esteem and respect.
