HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Robert A. Hadank of Peoria, who passed away on November 9, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Robert Hadank was born on November 21, 1917 in Peoria; his parents were Frank E. and Elizabeth (nee McLinden) Hadank; he married Mary Lucile Burns on June 14, 1941 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin; she passed away on April 11, 1995 in Peoria; he then married Joann Semelroth in 1999; and

WHEREAS, Robert Hadank graduated from the Spalding Institute in 1953; he subsequently attended Bradley University; and

WHEREAS, Robert Hadank served his country as a member of the United States Army's 4th Armored Division during World War II, having attained the rank of sergeant; and

WHEREAS, Robert Hadank was employed as a planning analyst at Caterpillar in Mossville until his retirement after 36 years of service; and

WHEREAS, Robert Hadank was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Peoria Heights; he was also a member of the Illinois Valley Antique Auto Club, the Heart of Illinois Volkswagen Club, American Legion Post 2, AMVETS National, and the Mt. Hawley Old Timer Bowlers; and

WHEREAS, Robert Hadank was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary; 2 grandchildren; his brother; and his sister; and

WHEREAS, Robert Hadank is survived by his wife, Joann; his daughter, Carol (Joseph) Volpe; his grandchildren, Sean (Ketra), Christian (Donelle), David (Heidi), James (Heather), and Sue; his 11 great-grandchildren; his 3 great-great-grandchildren; and his stepchildren, Julie (Jim) and Kent (Tammy); therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Robert A. Hadank; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Robert Hadank as an expression of our sympathy.
