HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Robert A.
4Hadank of Peoria, who passed away on November 9, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Robert Hadank was born on November 21, 1917 in
6Peoria; his parents were Frank E. and Elizabeth (nee McLinden)
7Hadank; he married Mary Lucile Burns on June 14, 1941 at St.
8Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin; she passed away on April 11,
91995 in Peoria; he then married Joann Semelroth in 1999; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Robert Hadank graduated from the Spalding
11Institute in 1953; he subsequently attended Bradley
12University; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Robert Hadank served his country as a member of
14the United States Army's 4th Armored Division during World War
15II, having attained the rank of sergeant; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Robert Hadank was employed as a planning analyst
17at Caterpillar in Mossville until his retirement after 36 years
18of service; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Robert Hadank was a member of St. Thomas Catholic
20Church in Peoria Heights; he was also a member of the Illinois

1Valley Antique Auto Club, the Heart of Illinois Volkswagen
2Club, American Legion Post 2, AMVETS National, and the Mt.
3Hawley Old Timer Bowlers; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Robert Hadank was preceded in death by his first
5wife, Mary; 2 grandchildren; his brother; and his sister; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Robert Hadank is survived by his wife, Joann; his
7daughter, Carol (Joseph) Volpe; his grandchildren, Sean
8(Ketra), Christian (Donelle), David (Heidi), James (Heather),
9and Sue; his 11 great-grandchildren; his 3
10great-great-grandchildren; and his stepchildren, Julie (Jim)
11and Kent (Tammy); therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
13NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
14we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of
15Robert A. Hadank; and be it further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Robert Hadank as an expression of
18our sympathy.
