HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Kyran Patrick Conarchy, Jr. of Highland Park, who passed away on October 22, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Kyran Conarchy, Jr. served his country in the United States Army during World War II as an air observer and the Executive Officer of Battery A; he earned a Bronze Star for aiding his fellow soldiers and continuing to lead his battery of men during an intense battle in March of 1945; he earned a total of 4 medals during his time in the Army; and

WHEREAS, Kyran Conarchy, Jr. settled in Highland Park in 1949; he worked for the United States Treasury Department and then as Vice-President at Harris Bank Glencoe-Northbrook for 39 years; and

WHEREAS, Kyran Conarchy, Jr. was a parishioner at Immaculate Conception Parish in Highland Park for over 60 years, where he was a lector, religious education teacher, and member of several organizations; and

WHEREAS, Kyran Conarchy, Jr. was preceded in death by his parents, Kyran and Jane Conarchy; his sister, Jane (the late Bob) O'Brien; his brothers, William and Jack Conarchy; and his brother-in-law, Warren Weithofer; and

WHEREAS, Kyran Conarchy, Jr. is survived by his siblings, Marian Weithofer, Angela Hunter, and Sister Lois Conarchy Sisters of Loretto; his sisters-in-law, Mary Conarchy and Jane Conarchy; his 42 nieces and nephews; his 88 grand-nieces and nephews; and his 56 great-grand-nieces and great-grand-nephews, who fondly called him "Uncle Goodness"; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Kyran Patrick Conarchy, Jr., and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Kyran Conarchy, Jr. as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
