HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Beulah M. Floyd, who passed away on October 26, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Beulah Floyd was born on October 5, 1927 in Tutwiler, Mississippi to Albert and Mary Jones; she married Wilber Jones, Sr.; and

WHEREAS, Beulah Floyd was a great cook, seamstress, and hairdresser, who spent much of her time caring for sick relatives; she loved spending time with family, shopping and traveling, and playing the role of "family advisor"; and

WHEREAS, Beulah Floyd was a member of Evangel Outreach Center for many years and enjoyed spending her free time reading her Bible; and

WHEREAS, Upon the passing of husband, Beulah Floyd married Morris Floyd; and

WHEREAS, Beulah Floyd was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Wilber; her son, Michael; her siblings, McKinley, Lillian, Albert, Jr., Preston, Henry, and Gloria Dean; and her second husband, Morris Floyd; and

WHEREAS, Beulah Floyd is survived by her children, Josephine (Lonnie) Moore, Wilbert Jones, Jr., Bertha (Charles) Anderson, and Patricia Nelson; her step-sons, Morris Floyd, Jr. and Gregory Floyd; her 12 grandchildren; her 21 great-grandchildren; her 15 great-great-grandchildren; her sisters, Lillie Unger, Ruthie (Charles) Lewis, Viola Clemmons, and Gloria Perkins; her aunts, Robbie Russell and Kate Watson; her special cousin, Nellie Ellis; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Beulah M. Floyd, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Beulah Floyd as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
