HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The 956th Movement Control Team, United States Army Reserve, Fort Sheridan, Illinois was deployed to Iraq in 2004 and served with honor and distinction, earning a Presidential Meritorious Unit Citation; and

WHEREAS, The 956th Movement Control Team is mobilizing on November 15, 2013 in order to conduct pre-deployment training at Fort Hood, Texas for 45 days; and

WHEREAS, The 956th Movement Control Team will then be deployed to Afghanistan in December 2013 to conduct air, ground, and host nation truck movement control of equipment and sustainment supplies in order to expedite, coordinate, and monitor traffic throughout the Afghanistan Area of Responsibility; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we recognize the dedication and service of the citizen-soldiers of the 956th Movement Control Team and support and honor the families of the deploying soldiers; and be it further

RESOLVED, That November 15, 2013 is designated 956th Movement Control Team Day throughout the State of Illinois; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the 956th Movement Control Team as an expression of our esteem and respect.
