HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Warren Leroy "Red" Dixon, Sr. of Aurora, who passed away on September 4, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Warren Dixon, Sr. was born on June 22, 1916 in Chicago; and

WHEREAS, Warren Dixon, Sr. served his country as a member of the United States Navy during World War II; and

WHEREAS, Warren Dixon, Sr. was employed by Commonwealth Edison before becoming the owner and operator of Dixon Realty; he also served as president of the Aurora Real Estate Board and was a youth football coach for 35 years; and

WHEREAS, Warren Dixon, Sr. was a 70-year member of Annunciation Church; he was a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of the Montgomery Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7452 and the American Legion Post 84; he also served as the Grand Marshal of the 2012 Aurora Fourth of July Parade; and

WHEREAS, Warren Dixon, Sr. was preceded in death by his wife, Daisy (Victoria) Dixon; his parents, Lester and Minnie (Witten) Dixon, Sr.; his sisters, Margaret Bower, Marian Bowers, Gwendolyn Wagener, Shirley Dixon, and Della McCormick; and his brothers, Lester Dixon, Jr. and Herbert Dixon; and

WHEREAS, Warren Dixon, Sr. is survived by his children, Maryagnes Dixon and Warren (Katie) Dixon, Jr.; his grandchildren, Dennis (Jeanne) Foote, Steven (Laura) Foote, Warren (Nicole) Dixon III, Tracy (Erik) Richards, and Brian Dixon; his great-grandchildren, Jacob Foote, Justin Dixon, Abbey Foote, Jordan Foote, Natalie Richards, Dylan Richards, and Logan Dixon; and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Warren Leroy "Red" Dixon, Sr.; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Warren Dixon, Sr. as an expression of our sympathy.
