HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Lillie B. Harper of Chicago, who passed away on June 6, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Lillie Harper was born on July 28, 1930, in Quentin County, Mississippi, to Marion and Edie Ward; she was educated in the Quentin County, Mississippi, school system; she married Rev. Cardie L. Harper in 1957; and

WHEREAS, Lillie Harper worked at Heyer Office Machine Company as an inspector for 30 years, retiring in 1995; and

WHEREAS, Lillie Harper taught Sunday School at Maypole Avenue Church of Christ and worked in the church's food pantry; and

WHEREAS, Lillie Harper was preceded in death by her husband; and

WHEREAS, Lillie Harper had 2 children, Maurice Anderson and Dorothy Anderson Crawford; 4 brothers; and one sister; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Lillie Harper, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Lillie Harper as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
