HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Mary Coutee Rachal, who passed away on April 27, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Mary Rachal was born on January 11, 1922, in Cloutierville, Louisiana; her parents were John and Rosine Bellow Coutee; and

WHEREAS, Mary Rachal was a member of St. James Memorial Catholic Church; and

WHEREAS, Mary Rachal was preceded in death by her parents, John and Rosine; her husband, John B. Rachal; and her siblings, Phillip, John, and Lawrence Coutee, Rosine Watson, and Sarah Rachal; and

WHEREAS, Mary Rachal is survived by her sons, Daniel Coutee and his wife, Illinois State Representative Mary Flowers Coutee, and Alexander "Johnny" Herbert and his wife, Shirley Herbert; her brother, Steven Coutee; her sister, Genevieve Barnes and her husband, Frank Barnes; her sister-in-law, Wyomie Coutee; her grandchildren, Gloria, Terrance, Adriane, Kevin, Daniel, Cionna, Christopher, Makeda, Tina, and Jennifer; 15 great-grandchildren; her aunt, Mary Coutee Branch; and her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Mary Coutee Rachal; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Mary Rachal as an expression of our sympathy.
