HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Marcus
4Dion Gulley Sr. of Peoria, who passed away on May 25, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Marcus Gulley Sr. graduated from Peoria Christian
6School in 1989; he received his associate's degree in general
7education from Illinois Central College and was pursuing his
8bachelor's degree from Franklin University; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Marcus Gulley Sr. worked for Caterpillar Inc. as a
10manufacturer engineer II; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Marcus Gulley Sr. was a member of Star of Hope
12Church; he was well-known and respected in the youth sport and
13activity arena in Peoria including coaching junior football
14leagues, basketball, and baseball leagues; he was an active
15member of the Freelance Riders Motorcycle Club; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Marcus Gulley Sr. was preceded in death by his
17biological father, Willie James Herron Sr.; his paternal and
18maternal grandparents; and his brother; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Marcus Gullery Sr. is survived by his parents,
20Leon and A. Margie Aldridge; his children, Marcus "DJ" Dion

1Jr., Dominique, and Desiree; his grandson, Christopher Hearn
2Jr.; his brother, Minister Leon (Katrina) Aldridge II; his
3sisters, Minister Tracie (Keith) Savage, Minister Aldisa
4Slaughter, and Juleo'n (Kedric) Meredith; his fiancee, Jessica
5Buhl and her children, Johnny, Quinton, Anthony, and Jordyn;
6his siblings of the heart, Sonja, Tonya, Tammie Slaughter, and
7those of his biological father; his brothers, Will Herron III,
8Myron Branch, Phillip Smith, Kelvin Patterson, Kevin King,
9Jason Herron, and Demetrius Herron; his sisters, Evergreen
10Dotson, Jittaun (Raymond) Woods, April James, Maria Shon (Mike)
11Stallings, and Sophia Kennedy; and a loving family of nephews,
12nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
14NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
15we mourn the passing of Marcus Gullery Sr., and extend our
16sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew
17and loved him; and be it further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Marcus Gullery Sr. as an expression
20of our deepest sympathy.
