HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Olaf Gjovik on 45 years of service to the southwest Chicagoland area with Gjovik Auto; and

WHEREAS, Olaf Gjovik has been in the auto business since leaving the U.S. Navy at the end of World War II; he began his career in automobile service and in 1968 moved into auto sales; and

WHEREAS, Olaf Gjovik always felt that the best move he ever made was locating his dealership in Sandwich; and

WHEREAS, Olaf Gjovik has cultivated a family atmosphere with his employees at Gjovik Auto; the sales, service, and administrative staffs of the GM dealership are truly his family, with several having been in their positions for 15 years or more; and

WHEREAS, Olaf Gjovik is known for his community contributions; he has donated to over 100 organizations including churches and a wide range of charities such as the Open Door Fox Valley service; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Olaf Gjovik on his 45 years of service to the people of southwest Chicagoland with Gjovik Auto, and wish him many more successful years; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Olaf Gjovik as an expression of our esteem and respect.
