HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to recognize Apostle Richard Daniel Henton on his 64 years in the ministry and 49 as pastor of Monument of Faith Evangelistic Church; and

WHEREAS, Apostle Henton began his work in the ministry on December 14th, 1948; and

WHEREAS, Apostle Henton is the founder of the R.D. Henton Breakthrough Ministries which boasts close to 5,000 members; he is the executive producer of the Breakthrough Telecast, a weekly program that has aired on Sunday mornings for over 27 years; and

WHEREAS, Apostle Henton as been the keynote speaker for many ministries, including The Promise Keepers, Bishop T.D. Jakes, Azusa with Bishop Carlton Pearson, Morris Cerrullo, Bishop O.T. Jones Sr., Rev. R.W. Shambach, the late Bishop Gilbert E. Patterson, Bishop Charles Blake, Moore House, and many others; and

WHEREAS, Apostle Henton has held special services in Chicago, where he was born, raised, and still resides; these services often had to turn away people after the 10,000 seats were filled at the University of Illinois-Chicago Pavilion; and

WHEREAS, Apostle Henton has 3 doctorate of divinity degrees and has been the recipient of numerous certificates of merit, letters from presidents, keys to many cities by their mayors, and honored by congressmen and dignitaries; he received the 2007 N'Digo Foundation Recipient of N'Faith Award and the 2007 Luminary Senior Citizen Hall of Faith Award presented by Mayor Richard M. Daley; and

WHEREAS, Apostle Henton is the father of 4 children who work with him in his ministry; and

WHEREAS, The celebration of Apostle Henton's milestones will be held on June 17, 2013, at the Apostolic Church of God in Chicago; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we recognize Apostle Henton as he celebrates 64 years in the ministry and 49 years as pastor of Monument of Faith Evangelistic Church and wish him all the best in his future endeavours; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Apostle Henton as an expression of our esteem and respect.
