HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Charles William Mayfield on being selected as a State Star Farmer by the Illinois chapter of the Future Farmers of America; and

WHEREAS, The State Star Farmer award recognizes outstanding achievement in a production agriculture Supervised Agricultural Experience and active participation in the Future Farmers of America (FAA); each year, state associations select one member, thru a competitive process, from the top applicants for the state FAA degree; the national FAA foundation provides a $300 cash award; and

WHEREAS, The national FAA organization is dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education; their motto is "Learning to Do, Doing to Learn, Earning to Live, Living to Serve"; and

WHEREAS, Charles Mayfield has taken part and excelled in programs including Grain Production (district winner), Diversified Crop Production Entrepreneurship (chapter winner), Fiber-Oil Crop Production (chapter winner), and was a Section State Farmer; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Charles Mayfield on being selected as a State Star Farmer by the Illinois chapter of the Future Farmers of America; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Charles Mayfield as an expression of our esteem and respect.
