HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Jule E. Groat on the occasion of her retirement from Benton Township; and

WHEREAS, Jule Groat began her career as a secretary with Benton Township on September 7, 1978; her starting pay was $3.75 an hour; in 1979, she was appointed to serve as Deputy Town Clerk, where she served faithfully until her retirement; she also served as the Administrative Assistant to the Benton Township Supervisor; and

WHEREAS, During her 35 years at Benton Township, Jule Groat has worked with four Township Supervisors; in addition to her work as Deputy Town Clerk, she served as a Notary, a Deputy Registrar for Lake County, and a Freedom of Information Officer for the Township; and

WHEREAS, During her retirement, Jule Groat and her husband, Doug, will relax and seek to fulfill the goals on her "Bucket List"; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Jule E. Groat on the occasion of her retirement and wish her continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Jule Groat as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
