HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to recognize James Lambeth as he
4prepares to take part in the Honor Flight program; and
 
5    WHEREAS, James Lambeth will take his Honor Flight on March
626, 2013, with the Saint Louis, Missouri, chapter; the Honor
7Flight program is dedicated to transporting United States
8military veterans to Washington, D.C. to see the memorials of
9the respective wars they fought in; during the return trip, the
10veterans are given a packet of cards/letters to read from
11friends and family members; and
 
12    WHEREAS, James Lambeth was assigned to the 37th Engineer
13(Amphibious) Battalion Unit of the U.S. Army; and
 
14    WHEREAS, James Lambeth received numerous medals and
15ribbons during his time in the service including 4 Bronze
16Stars, Purple Heart, Good Conduct, European-African-Middle
17Eastern Campaign, World War II Victory, Army of Occupation
18Medal for World War II, Army of Occupation Germany Clasp,
19Honorable Service Lapel Button for World War II, Arrowhead and
20medal attachments representing the 4 major assaults within the
21European-African-Middle Eastern Theater, and the Presidential
22Unit Citation (Army); and

1    WHEREAS, James Lambeth's unit received the Meritorious
2Unit Commendation (Army) and the French Croix de Guerre with
3Palm; and
 
4    WHEREAS, James Lambeth was born near Newburg, Missouri, on
5January 25, 1924; he made a living farming near Plainview after
6his service in World War II; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
8NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
9we recognize James Lambeth as he prepares to take his Honor
10Flight trip from Saint Louis to Washington, D.C. and thank him
11for his service to his country; and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to James Lambeth as an expression of our esteem and
14respect.
