HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, It is highly fitting that the Illinois House of Representatives pays honor and respect to the truly great individuals who have served our country and, in doing so, have gone above and beyond the call of duty; and

WHEREAS, James Brandon served in the United States Army as a Private First Class with the 667th Field Artillery Battalion Headquarters Battery; and

WHEREAS, James Brandon served in the Ardennes, the Rhineland, Luxembourg, and Central Europe; and

WHEREAS, James Brandon took part in the infamous Battle of the Bulge, and after the Germans surrendered the battle, he was sent to Berlin; and

WHEREAS, During his service, James Brandon was awarded the American Theater Ribbon, the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Ribbon with 3 Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Medals, and the World War II Victory Medal; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we recognize James Brandon for his heroic actions during World War II and we thank him for his service to his country; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to James Brandon as an expression of our esteem and respect.
