HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Fred
4William Stotlar of Marion, who passed away on October 4, 2014;
5and
 
6    WHEREAS, Fred Stotlar was born in New London, Connecticut
7on July 16, 1943 to Warder and Helen B. Stotlar; he graduated
8from Marion High School in 1961 and from Northwestern
9University in 1965, where he received a bachelor's degree in
10both finance and marketing; he married Mary Ann Deason on
11November 9, 1968 at First Christian Church in Marion; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Fred Stotlar worked for Stotlar-Herrin Lumber
13Company, Inc.; he was joined at the family business with his
14brother, Dick, and their sons, David and Brian; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Fred Stotlar was an avid sports fan and
16participant; his favorite teams were the St. Louis Cardinals,
17the Chicago Bears, and the Northwestern Wildcats; he enjoyed
18being involved in the MYBSA Inc. - the Marion youth baseball
19league, coaching in the Bronco League for several years, and
20being an umpire; he also enjoyed playing golf; he was a
21Corvette collector and enjoyed spending quality time with
22family and friends; he supported several Marion area

1organizations; he was a member of First United Methodist Church
2in Marion and was an active supporter of First Christian Church
3Disciples of Christ for 46 years; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Fred Stotlar was preceded in death by his parents;
5his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jack and Emily Deason; his
6grandparents, Elmer and Nettie Borum and Fred and Harriet
7Stotlar; and many special aunts and uncles; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Fred Stotlar is survived by his wife, Mary Ann;
9his daughters, Sally Stotlar and Jane (Patrick) Woytek; his
10son, David (Jenna) Stotlar; his 3 granddaughters, Ellie Ann
11Woytek, Madeline Ann Woytek, and Ann Elizabeth "Annie" Woytek,
12and a fourth to come in March; his brother and sister-in-law,
13Dick and Anita Stotlar; his niece, Lynn Stotlar and nephew,
14Brian (Skyla) Stotlar, with their children, Ashton, Amelia, and
15Karston; his cousins, Dana (Terry) Hoffman, Paula (Tom) Risner,
16Bill (Judy) Hopkins, Bob (Linda) Borum, Ron Borum, and Jerry
17Houghton; as well as many special longtime friends; therefore,
18be it
 
19    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
20NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
21we mourn the passing of Fred William Stotlar, and extend our
22sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew
23and loved him; and be it further

1    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
2presented to the family of Fred Stotlar as an expression of our
3deepest sympathy.
