HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Terrence Patrick "Terry" Allen who passed away on November 11, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Terry Allen was born in Chicago on April 14, 1960 to Thomas and Irene Allen; and

WHEREAS, Terry Allen grew up on the North Side of Chicago with his 5 brothers and 2 sisters; he attended St. Patrick High School; his father was active with labor and politics while serving as an Apprentice Coordinator for the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers (IUBAC) Local 21; his brother, Jim Allen, currently serves as the Business Manager of IUBAC Local 21, and his brother, Tom Allen, serves as a judge on the Circuit Court of Cook County; additionally, his brother-in-law, Tim Cullerton currently presides as Chicago's 38th Ward Alderman; and

WHEREAS, Terry Allen became a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 134 in 1981; he worked with Newgard Electric, Commercial Light Electric, and Elite Electric before becoming an Electrical Inspector for Cook County; following his service with Cook County, he began working directly for IBEW Local 134, first as a Business Agent, then as Vice-President, and finally as Business Manager since October of 2011; and

WHEREAS, Terry Allen was the beloved husband of Jean (nee Conrick); the proud father of Billy, Amanda, and Michael Allen; the loving brother of Barbara (John) Wiemhoff, Nancy (Tim) Cullerton, Tom (Jan) Allen, Jim (Lin) Allen, Tim (Mary) Allen, Dan (Sue) Allen, and Pat (Laura) Allen; the brother-in-law of Mary Ann (Dan) Jordan, Bill Conrick, Joanne (Dan) Lynch, Tom Conrick, and Cathy (Jay) Ek; and the son-in-law of Bill and Camille Conrick; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Terrence Patrick "Terry" Allen, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Terry Allen as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
