HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Jerome F. "JR" McBride, Jr. of Glen Ellyn, who passed away on October 24, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Jerome McBride, Jr. graduated from Fenwick High School in Oak Park and Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa; he lived in DuPage County since 1990; and

WHEREAS, Jerome McBride, Jr. was considered the life of the DuPage County Board; he represented District 4 and had been on the board since 2006; he served on the Legislative Committee as Chairman, the Public Works Committee as Vice Chairman, and the Finance Committee, the Intergovernmental Committee, the Judicial and Public Safety Committee, and the Transportation Committee; and

WHEREAS, Jerome McBride, Jr. also worked as an insurance broker with the McBride Insurance Agency since 1990; and

WHEREAS, Jerome McBride, Jr. was a member of St. Petronille Parish in Glen Ellyn and Immaculate Conception Parish; he was a volunteer and fundraiser for Misericordia Heart of Mercy in Chicago and a board member of the Metropolitan Family Services of DuPage; in the past, he was a member and committee chair of the Main Street Redevelopment Committee in Forest Park, a member of the Board of Directors for the DuPage Chapter of the American Cancer Society, a member of the Architectural Review Committee in Glen Ellyn, a member of the Rotary Club of Glen Ellyn, a member of the Site Committee for Ben Franklin Elementary School in Glen Ellyn, a board member of the Glenbard West High School Booster Club, a founding member of the Jubilee Board for Outreach Community Ministries in Wheaton, a member of the BR Ryall YMCA in Glen Ellyn, a volunteer for Meals on Wheels in Glen Ellyn, and a volunteer in Glen Ellyn Youth Sports; and

WHEREAS, Jerome McBride, Jr. is the adoring and adored husband of Becky (nee Lauritsen); the beloved father of Lauren (Franklin) Lapaz, Molly, Abigail, Sara, and Martin "Marty"; the devoted son of Jerome F. and Ellen (nee Brown) McBride, Sr.; the loving brother of Kara (Paraic) Brophy, William, and Joy (Terence) Gibson; the son-in-law of Carol Lauritsen and the late Bruce Lauritsen; the caring brother-in-law of Ken (Shelley) Lauritsen and AnnMarie (Brian) Burgmeier; the fond uncle of 16; and the dear nephew, cousin, and exceptional friend of many; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Jerome F. "JR" McBride, Jr., and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jerome McBride, Jr. as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
