HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate Chief Dean H. Strzelecki
4on the occasion of his retirement from the Village of Niles
5Police Department after 39 years of service; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Chief Strzelecki joined the Niles Police
7Department on November 1, 1975; in 1983, he was transferred
8from the Patrol Division to the Investigation Division; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Chief Strzelecki was promoted to the rank of
10Sergeant in August of 1988, to Commander in August of 1992, and
11to Deputy Chief of Police in February of 2000; he was appointed
12to the position of Chief of Police in September of 2004; he
13graduated from the FBI National Academy in March of 2000; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Chief Strzelecki received the Chiefs Valor Award
15in October of 1988 for saving a woman from a fire at her home;
16he is a member of the Niles Chamber of Commerce & Industry and
17was presented with its Niles Citizen of the Year Award in 1995
18and the Ken Scheel Chamber Member of the Year Award in 2006; in
192012, he was recognized as Chief of the Year by the Illinois
20Crime Prevention Association, and, in 2014, he was named the
21Cook County Police Chief of the Year by the Illinois State
22Crime Commission; and

1    WHEREAS, Chief Strzelecki will be retiring on November 14,
22014; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
4NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
5we congratulate Chief Dean H. Strzelecki on his retirement from
6the Village of Niles Police Department after 39 year of service
7and wish him the best in all his future endeavors; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to Chief Strzelecki as an expression of our esteem
11and respect.
