HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Dr. Kurt Crowe on receiving the "2014 Rural Physician of Excellence Award" from the Illinois Rural Health Association; and

WHEREAS, One of the biggest healthcare challenges across our nation is the shortage of physicians who practice in rural settings; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Crowe graduated in 1997 as a member of the inaugural class of the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford's Rural Medical Education Program; and

WHEREAS, In 2000, Dr. Crowe completed his residency at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Crowe is Board Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Crowe began his rural medical career by practicing in Princeton, where he worked until 2006; he then joined the KSB Medical Group; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Crowe provides not only the full range of family medicine services to his rural patients, but he is one of the few family practice physicians who also provides maternity care; and

WHEREAS, Through his roles both as an instructor and preceptor, Dr. Crowe takes the time to teach and serve as a role model for future generations of rural physicians; and

WHEREAS, For the past 15 years, Dr. Crowe has served on the Recruitment and Retention Committee for the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford's Rural Health Education Program, providing valuable insights and recommendations for the selection of future rural physicians; and

WHEREAS, The patient care and expertise that Dr. Crowe provides has become vital to area residents; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we commend Dr. Crowe for his selfless service to his community and the impact he has made on improving rural health, and we congratulate Dr. Kurt Crowe on receiving the "2014 Rural Physician of Excellence Award"; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Dr. Crowe as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
