HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of George Thomas Workman of Benton, who passed away on May 24, 2014; and

WHEREAS, George Workman was born on February 11, 1992 in Mt. Vernon; his parents were Steven L. Workman and Stacia A. (nee Henrick) Workman; and

WHEREAS, George Workman had a passion for music and shared his enthusiasm and talent with the world around him; he was well known as a gifted singer, song writer, performer, actor, musician, and friend; and

WHEREAS, George Workman was a student at Rend Lake College; he enjoyed participating in the theatre and music programs; and

WHEREAS, George Workman was involved in many activities in his community, including marching band, scholar bowl team, national honor society, speech team, jazz band, choir, thespians club, and the Southern Illinois Earth Science Club; he was also a guitar player and singer in a rock band and a beloved member of the First United Methodist Church of Benton; and

WHEREAS, George Workman was preceded in death by his brother, Jeffery Workman; paternal grandparents, Joyce and Nelson Workman and Shirley (Kenneth) Wear; and an uncle, Jeffrey Henrick; and

WHEREAS, George Workman is survived by his parents; 2 sisters, Virginia (Nathan West) Workman and Melissa Workman; his maternal grandfather, Francis (Pat) Henrick; aunts and uncles, Janice Langford, Nelson Workman, Jr., John (Denise) Workman, and David (Stephanie) Henrick; and many cousins and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of George Thomas Workman; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of George Workman as an expression of our sympathy.
