HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Rev. Ira J. Acree, Senior Pastor of Greater St. John Bible Church, on the celebration of his 25th pastoral anniversary; and

WHEREAS, On May 14, 1989, Rev. Ira Acree became the pastor of Greater St. John Holiness Church, whose name was later changed to Greater St. John Bible Church; and

WHEREAS, Rev. Ira Acree is a tireless advocate for empowerment, championing principles of entrepreneurship, education, economics, and evangelism; and

WHEREAS, Over the past 9 years, Rev. Ira Acree has elected to provide college scholarships to deserving college bound students from the Austin community; his great passion for education led him to collaborate with many partners, parishioners, and friends over the years to be able to award over $150,000 in scholarships; and

WHEREAS, Rev. Ira Acree and Sister Acree feel that God has divinely placed them at Greater St. John to play a pivotal role in strengthening families, transform their community, and change the world; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Reverend Ira J. Acree on this auspicious accomplishment of 25 pastoral years, commend him on his efforts, and wish him much continued success in his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution presented to Rev. Ira Acree as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
