HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, On May 24, 2014, Megan Maureen Korczynski and
3Kevin Paul Gow, Jr. will be united in holy matrimony; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Megan Maureen is the daughter of Diane M. and
5Edwin J. "SKI" Korczynski; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Kevin is the son of Kevin Paul Gow, Sr. and the
7late Lynne Dwight Gow; and
 
8    WHEREAS, The father of the bride, Edwin J. "SKI"
9Korczynski, is a precinct captain within the 33rd Ward
10organization and has been honored by the Illinois General
11Assembly, the United States Congress, and the Department of
12Defense for outstanding achievement as a Civilian Reserve Air
13Fleet (CRAF)/Military Air Lift Command (MAC) America West
14Boeing 747 Pilot, flying 25 sorties during Operation Desert
15Shield/Desert Storm; and
 
16    WHEREAS, The bride and groom share more than their love,
17hope, and happiness: both of their fathers are veterans and
18distinguished members of the United States Marine Corps,
19meaning that dedication, loyalty, and integrity - qualities
20that are truly necessary to a successful marriage - are part of
21their upbringing; and

1    WHEREAS, As their wedding date approaches, the happy couple
2is filled with joyful anticipation, which is enhanced by the
3knowledge that their friends and families share their joy; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Megan Maureen reflects fondly upon her years
5living and working in Chicago and receiving her bachelor degree
6in Fine Arts in Interior Design from the Chicago International
7Academy of Design and Technology; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Megan Maureen, as a commercial designer
9associated with a Lake Forest leader in commercial design, has
10attained great praise from her peer group for her advanced
11skills in the unique computer-aided design (CAD) which assists
12in creation, modification, analysis, and optimization of
13design, as well as a high level of success within her field of
14design evidenced by her redesigning, in part, the offices of
15Cook County to the Milwaukee, Wisconsin airport; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Kevin Paul Gow, Jr., an elementary school teacher
17from Buffalo Grove, has received high praise from his superiors
18and parents for his innovated educational methods and even
19greater praise for his selfless time devoted to his volunteer
20efforts as a basketball and track and field coach with decisive
21wins to his credit; and

1    WHEREAS, Megan Maureen has acted as a volunteer for St.
2Vincent DePaul Food pantry in Lake Zurich, not only
3distributing food to those in need but extending compassion and
4understanding as well; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Kevin P. Gow, Jr. shares Megan Maureen's joy and
6jubilation and fondly reflects upon living and working in
7Chicago and receiving his master's degree from DePaul
8University; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Father of the groom, Kevin Sr., a former captain
10in the United States Marine Corps, and the late Lynne Dwight
11Gow, take great pride knowing that their care and parenthood
12examples provided Kevin with the intestinal fortitude and
13knowledge necessary to stand as a "Top Gun" husband, father,
14and companion; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Edwin J. "SKI", father of the bride, active member
16with the rank of major in the United States Air Force/CAP,
17along with mother, Diane Marlene, a 25+ years elementary
18education teacher and certified counselor to the learning
19disabled and emotionally disturbed, stand proud knowing that
20their care, fine example, and training has imbued Megan with
21the qualities of great character, competence, vision, and
22drive; utilizing these given virtues they are confident that
23Megan Maureen has developed a positive, predictable

1environment where all are treated with respect and dignity
2which, no doubt, will provide Megan with great family and
3future parenting skills; and
 
4    WHEREAS, The father of the bride, has put forth his best
5effort, throughout Megan's youth, to inform her that it is by
6no means enough that a new bride be a capable wife; she must be
7that, of course, but also a great deal more; she should be as
8well, a lady of liberal education, refined manner, caring,
9loving, filled with compassion as well as passion, and exhibit
10a keen sense of personal honor; she should be the soul of tact,
11patience, justice, firmness, and charity; in 2 words, every
12wife should keep before her the virtues of dignity and
13self-worth; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Edwin J. "SKI", father of the bride, has impressed
15upon Megan Maureen that the true test of character is not "just
16hanging in there" when you expect a light at the end of the
17tunnel, but performance of duty and persistence of example when
18one knows that no light is apparent; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Megan Maureen's virtues of tact, patience,
20justice, firmness, charity, and her positive, predictable
21environment where all are treated with respect and dignity will
22provide the many qualities needed as she walks the meandering
23path of matrimony; and

1    WHEREAS, Megan Maureen must be aware as she prepares for
2marriage and family that no meritorious act of her new family
3should escape her attention or be left to pass without its
4reward, even if the reward is only a word of approval; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Diane M., mother of the bride, imbued Megan
6Maureen with the highest ideals of duty, honor, and loyalty
7thus providing her with the virtues necessary to assume the
8responsibilities of a loving companion, wife, and parent;
9therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
11NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
12we recognize Megan Maureen Korczynski and Kevin Paul Gow, Jr.
13as they are united in holy matrimony and wish them many years
14of happiness; and be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to Megan Maureen Korczynski and Kevin Paul Gow, Jr.
17as a symbol of our best wishes.
