HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The International Association of Ministers' Wives and Ministers' Widows, Inc. was founded in 1940 by Dr. Elizabeth Coles Bouey as an organization based on love, faith, and prayer; and

WHEREAS, The International Association of Ministers' Wives and Ministers' Widows, Inc. is international and interdenominational with 102 different denominations; the organization is divided into regions, with the Central Region comprised of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, West Virginia, and Wisconsin; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Elizabeth Coles Bouey was called and ordained by God to travel the world throughout West Africa ministering to God's people; she subsequently organized a group of ministers' wives, teaching, engaging, and empowering them to become more effective in kingdom and power building; and

WHEREAS, Seventy-four years later, the International Association of Ministers' Wives and Ministers' Widows, Inc. still serves the great people of God through community service, awarding scholarships and endowments to various non-profit organizations; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Dr. Beverly W. Glover, Ruth G. Mosley, and Gladys Piper on the occasion of the International Association of Ministers' Wives and Ministers' Widows, Inc.'s 32nd Central Regional Conference in Lisle from May 16 - May 17, 2014; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the International Association of Ministers' Wives and Ministers' Widows, Inc. as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
