HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Eddie Simmons, Jr., who passed away on April 4, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Eddie Simmons, Jr. was born in West Palm Beach, Florida; he lived in Aurora for 54 years; and

WHEREAS, Eddie Simmons, Jr. served his country as a member of the United States Army in the Philippines during World War II; and

WHEREAS, Eddie Simmons, Jr. is survived by his wife of 25 years, Emma Yvonne Simmons; daughters, Eddie Ruth Jackson, Shirley Simmons, Catherine Muhammad, and Jacqueline Simmons; son, Eddie Sundiate (Lynette) Simmons; stepsons, Anthony (Deidra) Dennie and Rodney Holmes; sisters, Willie Jane Simmons and Rose (Charles) Henley; sisters-in-law, Mary Jo Dennie, Varanda Landry, and Bertha Simmons; brothers-in-law, Bobbie Dennie and Henry Williams; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Eddie Simmons, Jr.; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Eddie Simmons, Jr. as an expression of our sympathy.
