HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that the Retail Advisory Committee is created within the Illinois Department of the Lottery; the committee shall be comprised solely of retailers who are lottery vendors; 8 members of the committee shall be appointed as follows: 2 each by the President of the Senate, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Minority Leader of the Senate, and the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives; a ninth member who shall serve as chairman shall be appointed by the Governor; the members of the committee shall be appointed in consultation with the following: a statewide association representing convenience stores, a statewide association exclusively representing retailers, and a statewide association exclusively representing food retailers; and be it further

RESOLVED, The committee shall meet no less than quarterly and be utilized by the Department to advise the Department as to the overall direction of the lottery as well as assist the lottery in planning, advertising, and implementation of games and related programs; and be it further

RESOLVED, The Department of the Lottery shall provide staff and administrative support to the committee; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Department of the Lottery, the Governor, the President of the Senate, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Minority Leader of the Senate, and the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives.
