from Ch. 8, par. 37-3.12

Amends the Illinois Horse Racing Act of 1975. Includes wagering on the outcome of historical previously run horse races in the definition of "pari-mutuel system of wagering". Effective immediately.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning gaming.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Illinois Horse Racing Act of 1975 is amended by changing Section 3.12 as follows:

(230 ILCS 5/3.12) (from Ch. 8, par. 37-3.12)

Sec. 3.12. Pari-mutuel system of wagering. "Pari-mutuel system of wagering" means a form of wagering on the outcome of live or historical previously run horse races in which wagers are made in various denominations on a horse or horses and all wagers for each race are pooled and held by a licensee for distribution in a manner approved by the Board. Wagers may be placed via any method or at any location authorized under this Act.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
