SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

720 ILCS 5/11-27 new

Amends the Criminal Code of 2012. Provides that it is a Class 4 felony for a sexual predator to knowingly assume custody or control of a minor who was the victim of the sex offense committed by the sexual predator.

AN ACT concerning criminal law.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Criminal Code of 2012 is amended by adding Section 11-27 as follows:

(720 ILCS 5/11-27 new)

Sec. 11-27. Sexual predator; no custody.

(a) For the purposes of this Section:

"Minor" means a person who was under 18 years of age at the time of the commission of the offense.

"Sex offense" has the meaning ascribed to it in Section 2 of the Sex Offender Registration Act.

"Sexual predator" has the meaning ascribed to it in Section 2 of the Sex Offender Registration Act.

(b) It is unlawful for a sexual predator to knowingly assume custody or control of a minor who was the victim of the sex offense committed by the sexual predator.

(c) Sentence. A violation of this Section is a Class 4 felony.
