SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

105 ILCS 5/29-30 new

Amends the Transportation Article of the School Code. Requires a school board to develop and implement a policy for notifying the parent of each student of any school bus stop located within 500 feet of the residence of a person required to register under the Sex Offender Registration Act. Effective July 1, 2013.

AN ACT concerning education.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section 29-30 as follows:

(105 ILCS 5/29-30 new)

Sec. 29-30. School bus stop policy; sex offender. A school board shall develop and implement a policy for notifying the parent of each student of any school bus stop located within 500 feet of the residence of a person required to register under the Sex Offender Registration Act.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1, 2013.
