SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
625 ILCS 35/8 new

    Amends the Cycle Rider Safety Training Act. Provides that a property owner whose property is used for conducting a cycle rider safety training course is immune from civil liability for injury, death, or damage to property except where an injury is the result of the owner's willful or wanton failure to warn against a dangerous condition. Effective July 1, 2013.

1    AN ACT concerning transportation.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Cycle Rider Safety Training Act is amended
5by adding Section 8 as follows:
 
6    (625 ILCS 35/8 new)
7    Sec. 8. Exemption from liability. The owner of property
8used as a cycle rider safety training course under this Act
9shall not be held liable in a civil action for any injury or
10death to persons or damage to property that occurs during
11instruction or training on the training course, except for
12willful or wanton failure to warn against a dangerous
13condition, use, structure, or activity.
 
14    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1,
152013.
