SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Tommy Lee Logan, III of Springfield, who passed away on January 14, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Tommy Lee Logan was born in Thornton, Mississippi to Tommie B. Logan and Luella Sheehi Logan on August 6, 1941; he proudly served in the United States Army and was a lifelong waiter, having worked for the Springfield Hilton, Sangamo Club, St. Nicholas Hotels and Restaurants, and various other Springfield restaurants; and

WHEREAS, Tommy Lee Logan was a member of the Timothy Baptist Church and the Wizard's Wonders; he was also an avid Cubs fan; and

WHEREAS, Tommy Lee Logan was preceded in death by his parents, Tommie B. Logan and Luella Sheehi Logan; his sons, Robert Mike Cowan, Kirk Hardy, David Craig, and Keith Cowan; his brothers, William, Leon, James, and Charlie Logan; and his sisters, Alma Thomas, Betty McKinney, Dessie Rey Readus, Josephine Crutcher, and Betty Logan; and

WHEREAS, Tommy Lee Logan is survived by his sons, Omar Anderson, Jonathan (Camisha) Hardy, Jesse Craig, Anthony Craig, Tommy (Erica) Logan, Jason Craig, Michael Craig, and Kevin Logan; his daughters, Terri Cowan, Billie Cowan, Patricia Craig, Barbara Howze, Diane Orjarigi, Rose Logan, Mary Craig, Mary Jane Logan, Luella Logan, Golda (Thomas) Burton, Tiffany Cannon, and LaDonna Goodson; his brother, O. Chester (Artie) Logan; his sisters, Rochell Logan, Berlinda Thomas, Ethel Johnson, Dorothea (Julius) Brooks, and Ann Logan; his grandchildren; his great-grandchildren; his nieces; his nephews; his cousins; and his friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Tommy Lee Logan, III and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Tommy Lee Logan as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
