SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Charles M. Willms of Waukegan, who passed away on July 27, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Charles Willms was born in Lake Forest to John Christopher and Florence Rose (Peters) Willms on January 29, 1932; he served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War; and

WHEREAS, Charles Willms retired from the Social Security Administration; he was a past Waukegan Township Trustee; and

WHEREAS, Charles Willms was a lifelong member of the American Legion; his passion was serving on political committees; he proudly served on the Spaulding School Board and the Waukegan School Board for many years; and

WHEREAS, Charles Willms was preceded in death by his children, Beth Ann "Buffy" Willms-Brooks and Brian Willms; his brothers, John, Howard, and his twin Robert Willms; and his sister, Barbara Miceli; and

WHEREAS, Charles Willms is survived by his wife of 64 years, Yvonne (Soderberg); his sons, Dorman (Linda) Willms and Kevin Willms; his daughters, Robin Ward and Carla Sayre; his daughter-in-law, Lynne Willms; his ten grandchildren; his eight great-grandchildren; and his brother, Richard (Wilda) Willms; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Charles M. Willms and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Charles Willms as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
