SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Marvin Wood of Bloomington, who passed away on September 12, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Marvin Wood was born in Granite City to Delbert and Janet Boerkle Wood; after graduating high school, he served in the U.S. Army Reserve; he married Gracie Brase in Edwardsville on November 11, 1972; and

WHEREAS, Marvin Wood worked in the trucking industry for most of his life, including for Growmark FS, Landes Trucking, and Quincy Mack; and

WHEREAS, Marvin Wood loved his two pugs, Murphy and Riley; and

WHEREAS, Marvin Wood was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Tina and Gina; and

WHEREAS, Marvin Wood is survived by his wife, Gracie; his son, Joseph (Savannah) Wood; his brother, Dale Wood; and his sister, Cheryl Wagonblast; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Marvin Wood and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Marvin Wood as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
