SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Larry R. Orton of Delavan, who passed away on September 10, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Larry Orton was born to George W. and Mary Ellen Westfall Orton on November 26, 1945; he graduated from Delavan High School in 1963; he attended Western Illinois University; he served in the U.S. Air National Guard; and

WHEREAS, Larry Orton worked for the Xerox Corporation in Springfield from 1969 until his retirement in 2001; and

WHEREAS, Larry Orton was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, William "Verl" Orton and Donald Orton; and his granddaughter, Taylor; and

WHEREAS, Larry Orton is survived by his children, Kerri (Vince), Cory (Laurie), Brice (Jacki), and Tyler; his grandchildren, Sebastian, Ethan, Chase, Harrison, and Jaxson; his brothers, Charles (Georgeann) and Joe; his sister, Sue; his several nieces and nephews; and his best friend and nephew, Todd; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Larry R. Orton and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Larry Orton as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
