SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of George E. Blue of Mount Pulaski, who passed away on August 9, 2020; and

WHEREAS, George Blue was born to George R. and Blanche (Dodwell) Blue in Decatur on April 12, 1947; he served in the United States Navy from 1966 to 1969; he married Linda Rose Fournier on June 12, 1971; and

WHEREAS, George Blue was the owner and operator of George's Foods in Mount Pulaski, a branch manager for ABF Freight, a bus driver for the Mount Pulaski School District, and a part-time employee at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home; and

WHEREAS, George Blue was a Mason with the Mount Pulaski Masonic Lodge, a member of the Shriners, and a member of Mount Pulaski American Legion Post #447; and

WHEREAS, George Blue was also a lifelong Saint Louis Cardinals and Duke Basketball fan; and

WHEREAS, George Blue was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, George Blue is survived by his wife; his children, Terry (Raquel) Blue, and Casie Wyler; his two sisters, Nicki (Dave) Yemm, and Linda K (Rich) Osborn; and his three grandchildren, Sabrina, Brooke, and Caden; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of George Blue and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of George Blue as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
