SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Howard Bull of Springfield, who passed away on August 11, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Howard Bull was born to Gilbert and Ruby Bull in Jacksonville on July 25, 1941; he served in the U.S. Army and was very proud of his service; and

WHEREAS, Howard Bull was a mechanic/machinist by trade and enjoyed tinkering with engines and tools; and

WHEREAS, Howard Bull loved to fish and to teach his grandchildren and great-grandchildren the proper way to catch a crappie and was known as "Pap" to everyone who loved him; he loved Pawnee and New Berlin high school football, black and white westerns, and cola slushies; and

WHEREAS, Howard Bull was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of nearly 40 years, Donna Sue Bull; six brothers; and six sisters; and

WHEREAS, Howard Bull is survived by his three stepchildren, Linda Garner, John Shepherd, and Craig Shepherd; his six grandchildren, Dustin Garner, Krista Rentfro, Michael Shepherd, Andrew Shepherd, Taylor Buehrle, and Madison Shepherd; his eight great-grandchildren, Brayden, Mason, Avery, Ryker, Harper, Liam, Finnegan, and Olivia Sue; his brothers, Donald and Clyde Bull; and his sister, Lucille Shearer; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Howard Bull and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him;; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Howard Bull as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
