HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Kenneth "Kenny" Allen; and

WHEREAS, Kenny Allen was born in Chicago to Sadie Allen on December 27, 1965; he attended John A. Sbarbaro Elementary School and graduated from Simeon Vocational High School, where he was a star athlete and basketball player; he led the Wolverines to the 1983–84 Illinois High School Association Basketball Championship and was named MVP; and

WHEREAS, Kenny Allen had an entrepreneurial spirit; he loved exploring new opportunities, generating innovative ideas, and working with his hands; for the last several years, he worked closely with his cousin, John Allen, as an independent contractor for Al's Fast Service; and

WHEREAS, Kenny Allen was affectionately known as "Red"; he had an infectious smile and loud laugh that would win anyone over; and

WHEREAS, Kenny Allen was preceded in death by his mother; his brother, Harold Allen; and other family members and friends; and

WHEREAS, Kenny Allen is survived by his sisters, Gloria Allen Hodges and Marion Allen; his brothers, Gregory (Karen), Michael, and Maurice Allen; his uncle, Morris (Marlene) Allen Sr.; his aunt, Doris Allen; his great-aunts, Willa and Erma Perry; his sister-in-law, Doris Allen; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Kenneth "Kenny" Allen and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Kenny Allen as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
