SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Thomas I. Fraser Jr. of Prairie Grove, who passed away on January 26, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Tom Fraser Jr. was born in Chicago to Thomas I. Fraser Sr. and Nell (Payne) Fraser on November 2, 1921; he earned his bachelor's degree from DePaul University and completed graduate coursework at Harvard University; he served in the United States Navy Pacific Theatre from 1943 until 1946; and

WHEREAS, Tom Fraser Jr. was an electrician for the City of Chicago; after retirement, he worked at Mike's Service Center and Prairie Ridge High School; and

WHEREAS, Tom Fraser Jr. sang in a variety of groups, including the Paulist Choir, the Arlingtones and at St. Thomas of Villanova Church and Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church; and

WHEREAS, Tom Fraser Jr. was preceded in death by his parents; and his granddaughter, Lisa Small; and

WHEREAS, Tom Fraser Jr. is survived by his wife, Patricia (Butzen); his children, Lynne (Steven) Small, Gail (Jim) Kenny, Mary Lou (Terry) Lubrano, Michael (Suzanne) Fraser, James (Linda) Fraser, Joan Stromberg (Sam D'Amico), and Susan (Joe) Cole; his 18 grandchildren; and his 21 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Thomas I. Fraser Jr. and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Tom Fraser Jr. as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
