HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Neighborhood Watch Group 37 was established by neighborhood residents for the betterment of their community by working together to address and resolve neighborhood issues; and

WHEREAS, Neighborhood Watch Group 37 was established to promote safety in their community by communicating with their neighbors and remaining vigilant of unwanted activities within the neighborhood; and

WHEREAS, Neighborhood Watch Group 37, acting as a unified voice, communicates regularly with elected officials for the betterment of their neighborhood; and

WHEREAS, Neighborhood Watch Group 37 has remained a pillar in the city of Blue Island promoting community engagement, unity, and cultural awareness; and

WHEREAS, Neighborhood Watch Group 37 hosts an annual event for the community of Blue Island known as Black Culture Nite in Blue Island with the intentions of bringing awareness to the contributions African Americans have made to our country; and

WHEREAS, In celebration of Black History Month, Neighborhood Watch Group 37 will host their 18th annual Black Culture Nite in Blue Island on February 16, 2018; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we recognize Neighborhood Watch Group 37 for their dedication to improving the lives of Blue Island Residents and their cultural contributions to our community; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Neighborhood Watch Group 37 during their annual Black Culture Nite in Blue Island.
