SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

105 ILCS 5/34-18.60 new

Amends the Chicago School District Article of the School Code. Requires the school board to annually develop and distribute a publicly available report on the reported cases of sexual abuse or sexual assault that occurred on school district property in the previous school year. Effective immediately.

AN ACT concerning education.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section 34-18.60 as follows:

(105 ILCS 5/34-18.60 new)

Sec. 34-18.60. Report; sexual abuse or sexual assault. The board must annually develop and distribute a publicly available report on the reported cases of sexual abuse or sexual assault that occurred on school district property in the previous school year. The report shall, at a minimum, be posted on the school district's Internet website and in a newspaper of general circulation within the district.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
