SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Roy J. Mennenga of Gifford, who passed away on December 27, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Roy Mennenga was born on December 24, 1935 in Urbana; his parents were John and Hattie (nee Rosenback) Mennenga; he married LouAnn Schluter on January 18, 1959 in Gifford; and

WHEREAS, Roy Mennenga started working at George's Gas Service in Rantoul; he worked as a custodian and bus driver for Flatville schools and as a bus driver in Gifford for over 40 years; he also farmed all his life in the Gifford area; and

WHEREAS, Roy Mennenga was a member of the Gifford German Fall Festival Committee and the Immanuel Lutheran Church; and

WHEREAS, Roy Mennenga was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, Roy Mennenga is survived by his wife, LouAnn; 3 children, Linda (Kevin) Wolken, Kevin (Sherri) Mennenga, and Janet Mennenga; 5 grandchildren, Kurt Wolken, Heather Johnson, Keaton Mennenga, Haley Mennenga, and Hanna Mennenga; and 3 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Roy J. Mennenga; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Roy Mennenga as an expression of our sympathy.
