SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of William B. Snodgrass of Waukegan, who
4passed away on July 11, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, In his early years, William Snodgrass lived on his
6parents' farm near Toledo; he served as a Seaman 1st Class in
7the United States Navy; he completed his bachelor's degree in
8education at Eastern Illinois University and his master's
9degree at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign; and
 
10    WHEREAS, William Snodgrass worked as a school
11administrator at North Chicago High School for 30 years; and
 
12    WHEREAS, William Snodgrass had many interests, including
13being an avid golfer, acting as a Precinct Committeeman, and
14acting as a legislative aid; he volunteered for many years at
15the Veterans Administration Hospital and the Methodist Church
16soup kitchen; he also acted as President of the North Chicago
17Rotary Club and the Illinois Industrial Education Association;
18some of his greatest enjoyment came from being involved in
19State and local politics; he attended many political functions
20and worked tirelessly for candidates by making calls,
21delivering brochures, and attending fundraisers; and

1    WHEREAS, William Snodgrass is survived by his wife of 64
2years, Jean; his children, Fred Snodgrass, Rita Snodgrass, Sara
3Goodenough, and Kathleen Stone; and his 2 grandchildren, Ryan
4Stone and Sara Snodgrass; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7William B. Snodgrass, and extend our sincere condolences to his
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of William Snodgrass as an expression
12of our deepest sympathy.
