SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of William B. Snodgrass of Waukegan, who passed away on July 11, 2015; and

WHEREAS, In his early years, William Snodgrass lived on his parents' farm near Toledo; he served as a Seaman 1st Class in the United States Navy; he completed his bachelor's degree in education at Eastern Illinois University and his master's degree at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign; and

WHEREAS, William Snodgrass worked as a school administrator at North Chicago High School for 30 years; and

WHEREAS, William Snodgrass had many interests, including being an avid golfer, acting as a Precinct Committeeman, and acting as a legislative aid; he volunteered for many years at the Veterans Administration Hospital and the Methodist Church soup kitchen; he also acted as President of the North Chicago Rotary Club and the Illinois Industrial Education Association; some of his greatest enjoyment came from being involved in State and local politics; he attended many political functions and worked tirelessly for candidates by making calls, delivering brochures, and attending fundraisers; and

WHEREAS, William Snodgrass is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jean; his children, Fred Snodgrass, Rita Snodgrass, Sara Goodenough, and Kathleen Stone; and his 2 grandchildren, Ryan Stone and Sara Snodgrass; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of William B. Snodgrass, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of William Snodgrass as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
